DESCRIPTION: The Digital Media Account Executive’s primary responsibility is to aggressively grow Hearst Argyle digital revenue ad by selling new business opportunities on our digital media platforms ((Internet, Weather Multicast, Wireless) to interactive and traditional advertising agencies, as well as directly to local businesses. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the local ad sales marketplace and consumer sales trends & marketing. Should demonstrate ability to think creatively, sell strategically, and communicate efficiently, both internally and externally. Must possess a strong work ethic and accountability for personal goals and performance.Job Responsibilities:
• Grow station digital ad sales revenue and exceed revenue goals by prospecting for new clients, making appointments, and conducting multiple face to face meetings per week
• Sell advertising to local direct clients leading with Internet, Weather Multicast, Wireless products
• 10 – 15 client meetings/week
• Develop new business revenue
• Stay current on third party research relevant to the station website(s); The Media Audit, Comscore, Nielsen Net Ratings, etc
• Interpret and present qualitative and quantitative market research/data.
• Advertising/Marketing consultation
• Client service, including but not limited to, avail submissions, package development, copy writing, credit applications, collections, etc.
• Manage clients’ campaigns, evaluate performance, and provide comprehensive campaign recaps
• Monitor competitors’ sites for leads
• Be knowledgeable about competitive rates and traffic
• Follow the trades to bring new trends and information to the sales team and station clients
• Perform other duties as needed and directed by Sales Management
Skills, Abilities & Credentials:
• Strong conceptual seller and presentation skills
• Digital media junkie
• Interpret and present qualitative information to individuals and groups
• Deal effectively with a varied list of clients and personality types
• Creative problem solver
• Articulate solutions-oriented sales presentations
• Advanced Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel
• 2 years media sales experience
• BA/BS
