Now Hiring: Sideline Reporters

KCRA 3 is looking for talented, motivated high school students with an interest in media to become Sideline Reporters for the 2008-2009 school year.

Sideline Reporters are responsible for interviewing fellow high school students and coaches, shooting video footage of sports practices and games, and writing and editing their work.

Sideline Reporters will be responsible for uploading multiple videos and photos to Highschoolplaybook.com and are required to attend at least one sporting event a week.

Some evening and weekend work is required, and Sideline Reporters will need a parent's or guardian's approval and support.

KCRA 3 will provide intensive hands-on training sessions for all Sideline Reporters and will supply the majority of equipment needed.

Sideline Reporters are required to have or have access to a computer with these minimum requirements:

  • Windows Xp with at least SP2 or Windows Vista
  • 1.8GHz Processor
  • 512 MB RAM
  • 40 GB Hard Drive Space
  • DVD-ROM
  • Firewire
  • Cable/DSL


  • Sideline Reporters are valued members of the KCRA 3 team and will have the opportunity to showcase their work on Northern California's premier high school sports video Web site.
