Victim Says She Was Molested In Broad Daylight

TRACY, Calif. -- A man has been arrested in connection with a recent attack of a woman in Tracy, police said.Authorities said Benedict Omelagah, 23, was taken to jail Thursday on suspicion of sexual battery.Police said a woman walking in the area of Monument Drive and Sycamore Parkway was attacked at about 1 p.m. on May 7.The victim told police she was pushed to the ground and molested by a man who had jogged past her seconds earlier.The woman resisted the attack and the suspect suddenly stopped and ran away, police said. The woman was not injured.On Thursday, the victim called police and said she saw Omelagah in the area of Menay Drive. She followed him to a home on Gatetree Court.Police responded but nobody responded at the door of the residence.A family member arrived and allowed police to enter the home. Omelagah was found inside and taken into custody.
