LINDA, Calif. -- Three teens have been arrested in connection with Thursday's fatal drive-by shooting in Linda, the Yuba County Sheriff's Department said Friday.A 16-year-old Olivehurst boy, a 16-year-old Sacramento boy and a 14-year-old Marysville boy were all booked into Bi-County Juvenile Hall, Sheriff Steve Durfor said in a news release. All three of the teens are validated gang members, Durfor added.Durfor called the recent trend of drive-by shootings in Yuba and Sutter counties "sad and disturbing," and asked for the community's help in preventing future crimes.Marysville resident Raymond Castro, 29, died Thursday night after he was shot at an apartment complex near Yuba College, officials said.Castro died at around 9:30 p.m. at a local hospital, officials said. An autopsy was scheduled for Friday. The drive-by is Yuba County's fifth this year and the first with any reported injury. During the same time period last year, the sheriff's department handled seven reports of drive-by shootings.Durfor credited the Yuba County Gang Enforcement Unit's knowledge of local gang members with the quick apprehension of all three suspects."Our officers heard the descriptions provided on the scanner and knew almost instantly who we were looking for," he said in a statement.Gang officers directed other deputies to the area of Country Club Court, where they located the suspects' vehicle abandoned in a parking lot.A tactical team comprised for SWAT members from Yuba and Sutter counties was assembled and searched neighboring apartments until the three youths were found.
