Tip: Dried Fruits

Dried fruits can be stored tightly wrapped at room temperature for up to 3 months. To store for up to a year, they should be refrigerated in a tightly sealed plastic bag. Rather than a knife, it's easiest to chop dried fruits into uniform pieces using kitchen scissors. To prevent sticking, dip the shears in hot water as needed.
