Listen up!Class is in session. It's TNA time again, kids. That's Total Nonstop Action wrestling for those of you not paying attention in class. TNA's "Impact!" is seen Thursday nights on Spike TV. This Sunday, the troupe is in pay-per-view mode with "Victory Road." Ready to have me run down the big matches on the card, and predict what'll happen? Thought you'd never ask.Challenge Match: Rhino vs. Monty Brown
What Should Happen: It's brawn versus brawn in this one, with Rhino on the rise. He's the natural pick here.
What Will Happen: Rhino, who is doing a great job of ripping the new ECW, takes it.
What Did Happen: TNA takes the easy way out. Both guys brawl into the crowd, ref calls for a no contest. Neither one has to take the loss.Challenge Match: Team 3D vs. The James Gang
What Should Happen: This six-man tag pits the old Dudley Boyz -- Ray, Devon and Runt (you knew him in WWE as Spike) against Kip James (the former Billy Gunn), BG James (the former Road Dogg) and the monster Abyss. A paying customer -- in the end -- would probably like to see the shrimp Spike somehow pin Abyss. That's how I'd book it.
What Will Happen: Of course, what I would do and what will happen are often two different things. Common sense tells me the heels will win this one, with Abyss getting the pin.
What Did Happen: Abyss pins the little guy after a Black Hole Slam through a table.Hair Match: Raven vs. Larry Zbyszko
What Should Happen: Ooooh, these guys really hate each other! And if the elderly Larry Z doesn't wrestle, he's fired! Problem is, Larry sports the comb-over, so there's not much to cut. That's why he'll never lose this one. What's the fun of having a hair versus hair match if you can't cut some locks after it's over? Raven must lose.
What Will Happen: Raven, clearly the favorite, loses. He has more hair.
What Did Happen: Raven hits the Raven Effect DDT. Zbyszko gets buzzed. (He's having hair restoration surgery soon, so the hair needed to be shaved anyway. Who knew?)NWA World Tag Team Title Match: A.J. Styles and Christopher Daniels w/Sirelda (c) vs. America's Most Wanted w/Gail Kim
What Should Happen: The new champs give a rematch to the evil drunken cowboy team they beat last time out. The new spin is that the female valets -- the monstrous Sirelda and the skanky Gail Kim -- are also in the match. Despite this nonsense, I see no reason there should be a change here. Styles and Daniels (along with the great Samoa Joe) rule the ring in this promotion.
What Will Happen: NWA tag champs retain.
What Did Happen: Styles pins James Storm. Champs keep the belts.No. 1 Contenders Match: Christian Cage vs. Sting vs. Samoa Joe vs. Scott Steiner
What Should Happen: The winner gets a title shot at NWA champ Jeff Jarrett, who was handed the belt a few weeks back by new TNA "boss" Jim Cornette. Samoa Joe is in a feud with Steiner, so neither of those two will advance. That leaves Cage and Sting, two babyfaces who could both make money in a match against Jarrett. If it were up to me, I'd go with Sting. Cage has had his shot with the belt, and it might be time to see some different match-ups.What Will Happen: Sting takes it to face Jarrett for the title.
What Did Happen: Sting slaps the Scorpion Death Drop on Steiner for the win. So, it's Jarrett vs. Sting at next month's pay-per-view, "Hard Justice."Three right, two wrong -- but I nailed the title match and the big main event, of course. Did you expect any less?Class dismissed!(Professor Wrestling is a masked employee of Internet Broadcasting. Got a question, comment, complaint? E-mail him right here. )
