PLACER COUNTY, Calif. -- Increased fire activity prompted officials to close a Placer County road Friday.Foresthill Divide Road was shut down from China Wall Off-Highway Vehicle Area to Sailor Flat.According to the Tahoe National Forest, firefighters are continuing to strengthen the line along the Foresthill Divide Road by conducting burnout operations, which could cause an increase in smoke in the area causing poor visibility along the road. The Mosquito Ridge Road is open, but drivers are warned that traffic could be restricted or the road could be closed at any time.Vacationers on or near Sugar Pine Reservoir or Lake Valley Reservoir will likely see helicopters dipping water from both reservoirs. Everyone should stay clear of those operations.
