Thursday, July 19 - 1:21 p.m.

Hiya!!!! Sorry I have been on hiatus. I have been on vacation since the 4th of July. So if you emailed me just before that or during the past 2 weeks and I haven't responded, I am very sorry. I didn't have access to me email while I was away.

I know you all must have done a GREAT job during the Host Hunt Casting Calls. you all should be VERY proud of yourselves. Be sure to check out My58.com this Friday to see who the 12 finalists are.

OK so back to my vacation.... Wow it was great. We flew into Boston the a.m. of July 4th so we were able to see the fireworks. Our hotel room had a 50 yard line view of the Charles River and the barge they were shooting fireworks off of. It was drizzling a bit so we just sat in the 2 cozy chairs in our hotel room and watched the 30 minute firework show right there in our room. It was perfect! Here are a couple pictures of the fireworks from our room.

Then on the 7th we took a ferry over to Provincetown, MA. It is right on the tip of Cape Cod. It was actually the first place the Pilgrims landed (yes before they went to Plymouth, they went there). Ptown is tiny town that used to be a Portuguese fishing village. We stayed for a week in Ptown, riding bikes to the beach, eating seafood, going to comedy shows and walking lots! It was much needed. Here are a couple pictures from Ptown. One of me at the beach and the other of Marci and me with one of our favorite comedians Kate Clinton.

It is nice to be back home though. In my own bed... Ahh and I know that my dogs are glad to have me back home too.

Thursday, June 21 - 12:11 p.m.

So my niece, McKenna, she is the light of my life. Seriously, the kid brings me to my knees. My sister and brother-in-law have created this Web site with lots of pictures and videos. I was watching one of the videos yesterday, when I glanced over and saw myself in a mirror ... OMG I was making the cheesiest face. It was like a smile-meets-confusion-meets-surprised. The video I was watching was of McKenna dancing with her papa. She is just 7 months old, so he was holding her up and she was laughing. It was so cute and sweet that it must have invoked this funk look on my face. I guess I am one of those people who smiles when they are taking someone else's picture or imitates the faces I see on others.

Speaking of others ... you all have giving me some great recommendations for good tunes. Here is a list of some stuff I have run across recently ... some new, some old.

The Taste Of Ink - The Used
She - Green Day
Sway - Bic Runga
Like A Boy - Ciara
Forever - Papa Roach
On Your Porch - The Format
Lost - The Mary Onettes
Surrounded - Chantal Kreviazuk
Dashboard - Modest Mouse
Phantom Limb - The Shins
Complicated - The Cliks
When Juniper Sleeps - Seamus Egan

Friday, June 15 - 9:39 a.m.

Today is the last day to submit your 2007 Host Hunt applications. So, if you haven't yet filled yours out and submitted it yet, please do so NOW. You can find the application and rules by clicking this link.

As I encourage all of you to apply and give it your all, I feel a sense of sadness. Trav and I ... we don't wanna leave :(

We will have until the beginning of October and then we'll pass the torch on to the two new hosts. So, we still have a few months and we are going to make the absolute most out of it.

Besides, I can't do this and do a show on the Travel Channel :) Kidding. That would be ultimate dream. I would love to host a show on the Travel Channel or Fine Living or hey maybe even My58. Something that involves getting around and seeing new things and meeting new people. So, If you are an agent, a producer, a lawyer or you are just someone looking to help me become a (traveling) STAR ... I would love to chat with you. Send me an e-mail, let's talk.

Until the next time ... good luck to all you Host Hunters.

In the words of one of my heroes, "Be the change you wish to see in the world."

Monday, June 11 - 9:45 a.m.

Wow! What a weekend. My folks were in town for a visit. It was so nice to see them. They were able to join Trav and me out at Arco on Friday for an interview with Kara Lawson. This was a dream come true for me. Not only to interview Kara, but to have my folks there to see it.

On Saturday, we took my mom out the CSUS aquatic center to go kayaking. She LOVED it. Then that night, we went back to Arco to watch the Monarchs battle it out with Phoenix. We lost the game, but we gave a good fight.

As of late, my schedule has been quite hectic and I haven't had as much time as I would like to answer some of the email from viewers, fans, friends and whatnot. I am glancing at the clock, and it looks like I have about 15 minutes to respond to a few, so here we go:

Will: Dude, thank you so much for the music recommendations. It looks like you and I have some very similar tastes. It appears we both have extremely eclectic palates when it comes to tunes. I absolutely adore Chantal Kreviazuk and Muse is quickly becoming one of my faves. Dude, have you heard the new album from the Shins? Brilliant!

Amanda: So, Amanda wants to know what she should wear through out the 2007 Host Hunt auditions and stuff. First off, good luck and way to go for applying! OK, so what to wear ... um, well, shucks, I dunno that I am really an expert on this. I am a casual kind of chick. I love jeans and cool tees. I always rock a quirky pair of shoes and belt, though. Be yourself Amanda, change it up a little, too. Maybe come in a tee with a blazer and some wingtips :) or in a dress with leggings and boots. I love the funky fab vibe, but the most important rule is to be yourself and be comfortable. Wear whatever will allow you to be yourself in the most comfortable way ... even if that means SpongeBob PJs.

Lisa: Lastly, Lisa wants to know how much time the hosting takes. Is it a full time job? Hmmm, well, truthfully I don't know what all they have planned for the 2007 Host Hunt winners. I imagine the winners will continue with Garage Cinema (me = weeping) and that usually takes Trav and me a few hours a week to tape, but half of that time usually consists of us goofing off with producer Jay and intern Michelle. Then there are the public appearances, Black Expo, Asparagus Fest, Fest de la Familia, CHIP, Holiday time at KCRA Experience. And commercials also. I would venture to say that it is more of a FULL part time job with lots of perks and fun and great people.

Also, if you want to get a better look at what I and some of the other finalists wore last year, click below to see the footage:

www.my58.com/hosthunt

Best of luck to all of you who have submitted an application. Remember apps must be in by 5 p.m. this Friday, June 15.

Peace-
Your My58 host,
Kelly

Friday, June 1 - 4:15 p.m.

I have slacked ... seriously. My sincere apologies for slacking with my blog. Sometimes life comes at you faster than you can keep up with.

So today is Friday. YEAH!!!!! The start of a great weekend hopefully. I will be rooting for my favorite Sacramento sports team ... THE MONARCHS!!!! WooHoo! They have their first home game on Saturday. I am stoked. I am a bit of a MEGA fan i guess you could say. Kara Lawson is my favorite Monarch. She is the kind of player I strive to be ... positive and outgoing. She is the first to root her team on and give high fives. That woman has heart.

I play in a basketball league myself. On Wednesday nights, a group of my mates and I, The Frosty Mugs, play in AdventureOutWomen's basketball league. My team is great. We may not have the most skill or experience, but when it comes to fun and good people, we take the cake.

Here's to a great, safe and beautiful weekend.

GO MONARCHS!!!!

Peace- Kel

Friday, May 11 - 3:23 p.m.

Sunday is Mother's Day. What are you doing for your mama? I sent my mom a Life Is Good Sweatshirt Zip Up Hoodie. She loves that brand. I wish I lived closer to my family. My folks live in So Cal and although it is an hour flight away, we just don't see each other enough.

You know it's funny, the older I get, the more I truly appreciate all that folks did for us growing up, and I sincerely respect them as individuals now. I have friends who are the age of my folks, and so it gets me to thinking sometimes ... if my parents weren't my parents, would I want to be friends with them? HECK yeah! My pops is super fly and a really chill dude and my ma ... she is a really thoughtful, generous woman.

So to all you moms out there, HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! You all have the most difficult and important job there is. Much love mamas.

Peace-

Your My58 Host,
Kelly

P.S. Happy Mother's Day, ma ... I love you.

Wednesday, May 9 - 4:24 p.m.

So, I have a small crack in my windshield. I got it a few years ago and had it sealed, but it appears to be spreading. Argh! So I called the place who originally sealed it ... they are out of business, GO FIGURE! So can any of you recommend a company who can seal it for me?

I will be out at CIP (Concert in the Park) on Friday night, so if you see me, come say "hi."

Until then, here is a short playlist of local bands to hold you over:

The Match - Mumbo Gumbo
Chelsea - Agent Ribbons
Coldhouse - Pets
Let's Stay In - Bright Light Fever
The Midnight Academy - The Epidemic

Tuesday, May 8 - 5:16 p.m.

Dudes!

Trav and I went out to the opening night of Friday Night Concerts in the Park this past Friday. Super sweet! All four bands were stellar! Seriously, that was one heck of a lineup. We had tons of fun and talked to lots of folks. We got to hand out lots of free stuff and meet some of the bands.

I will definitely be there this Friday night, the 11th, to check out Mumbo Gumbo and Shannon Curtis.

Here is a picture of me and Travis and our swanky camera dude Jay. Me = loves Jay. Thanks for the picture, Marci.

Hey y'all!

Travis and I are going to be at the Stockton Asparagus Festival this weekend. We'll be there from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

I am super stoked about it too because I LOVE asparagus. I like it hot, cold, steamed, raw, blanched, sweet or savory. Yum! My mouth is watering. I think I am going to get a bite to eat.

Before I do though, let me leave you all with this great picture Oswald, the Great Dane. Oswald is a the rock star dog of my friend Terry.

Rock on Oswald and Terry, see you at Concerts in the Park!

Tuesday, April 24 - 9:34 a.m.

So, I normally don't blog on Tuesdays, but since I got a great e-mail from a super cool dude by the name of Will, I thought I would post a little somethin' somethin'.

First off ... Hi Will! Thanks for the e-mail. I am so glad you took the time to drop me a line. I mean it. I LOVE hearing from folks who watch the show and I really dig getting honest answers and thoughts about what you all think.

OK, so Will was telling me that he wasn't the hugest fan of this last Sunday's movie, "Gigli." Understood, Will, understood. You know, I once had a teacher who told me, "Kelly, don't ruin an apology with an excuse." This has always been some of the best advise I have ever received. So, Will, I am just going to say that I am sorry we let you down.

This coming Sunday, we'll be showing "Purple Rain." Being a HUGE fan of Prince and Morris Day, I am excited about this one. Perhaps I can teach Travis how to do the Bird... Hmmm..

OK, well ... Will, I hope you accept my apology and that you continue watching the My58 GARAGE Cinema. Thanks again for the honesty, my friend.

Keep the e-mail coming, kids!

Peace-

Your My58 Host,
Kelly

Monday, April 23 - 4:10 p.m.

So, I recently got an email from Todd ... Hi Todd.

Apparently, Todd thinks my haircut is "HOT" ... well, thanks Todd. Todd also wanted to know who cuts my hair, where I go to get it cut and what the style/cut is called.

Well, Todd, I go to Stephanie L. at Stuart Angelo in Roseville. She is fabulous! The cut I believe is called the HOT KEL ... just kidding. Um, it actually doesn't have a name. I don't think so, at least. I really appreciate the feedback though, Todd. You have made my week!

Keep the e-mails coming folks. I LOVE hearing from you all. Ask us questions, give us a piece of your mind, tell us we are SPECTACULAR ... whatever! Just let us know you are out there ... is there anyone out there?

Peace-

Your My58 Host,
Kelly

Friday, April 20 - 10:26 a.m.

Monday, April 16 - 10:35 a.m.

Have you ever been driving along the highway late at night and noticed that it smells a bit like skunk? You know that smell, right? We tend to smell it quite a bit this time of year. You know, maybe you are coming home really late on a Saturday night and you are cruising to some tunes, thinking about that Taco Bell drive-thru, when suddenly the odor hits you. Well, I experienced something slightly different this morning at 4:30 a.m.

Every a.m. my girlfriend Marci gets up and takes the dogs out to potty and have breakfast. She takes Bandit on a leash because he tends to turn into Dawg the Bounty Hunter when left to his own devices in the backyard. OK, so while Marci takes them outside, I remain sleeping, dreaming about vacation and my toes in the sand and mojitos and the sound of a steel drum. Suddenly, I awake to the smell of skunk. I drop out of bed and run down to the other end of the house where I see Marci, nose pinched, head shaking, a grim look on her face ... and I see Bahr ... tongue hanging out of his mouth, half smiling with a look of pride on his face. Marci closes him in the back porch and makes her way back into the house. It is then that I experience the TRUE skunk smell.

My friends ... you see ... there are different levels to SKUNK stank. The most potent of which is a garlic meets burning rubber, meets death, meets old dirty gym socks, meets decaying produce stench. Seriously, it is vomit-inducing. I am being kind here folks. It is NOT the scent you smell while driving along the highway at 11:30 p.m. on a Friday night ... no way! It can only be experienced at point-blank range, up close and much too personal.

The skunk is a liar, a phony, a fake. The skunks pretends it's scent is not so bad, the skunk acts like it is innocent and that it is given a bad name because it has a semi bad scent. Kids, parents, friends, the skunk is trying to pull a fast one on you. Take it from me. No, take it from Bahr. Poor guy, his eyes were tearing up because it smelled and burned so badly. Thank goodness for the grooming department at Petsmart on Olsen. They work skunk-tastic magic.

For the record, tomato juice doesn't work and it will make you NOT want Italian food for a VERY long time.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some Febreezing to do.

Peace-

Your My58 Host,
Kelly

Friday, April 13 - 9:39 a.m.

Look out weekend, here I come, because weekends are made for fun ... isn't that how the song goes? Doesn't matter so much to me though, because I'll be painting. Mark Finan's forecast said it will rain on Saturday, which is actually good news because we need to paint one of our guest rooms. You see, when it is so nice outside, I cannot bear to be cooped up inside. My folks are coming up to visit from So Cal in a month or so, and I really want them to feel comfortable, so we are creating a zen-like guest room.

I am extremely looking forward to seeing my parents. They live near L.A. and even though we are just an hour's plane trip away, I do not see them nearly enough. They are really great people. My mom has been wanting me to take her kayaking for years now, so I am excited to take her out on the lake. And my pops loves basketball, and always encouraged me to play even though I was so short, so we will also hit up a Monarchs game. GO MONARCHS!

I think sometimes when you don't see your family very often, or they live further away, you really appreciate them more. You look forward to the visits and you respect their lives and the place they hold in your heart, you know? OK I am getting sentimental. I just have the GREATEST family. I consider myself truly blessed and one of the richest people I know because my family ROCKS!!!

Enjoy the weekend.

Peace-

Your My58 Host,
Kelly

Monday, April 9 - 10:02 a.m.

Let the spring cleaning begin! Oh yeah, that's right.

While I had every intention of spending yesterday on my kayak, enjoying the BEAUTIFUL weather and excellent conditions, I instead spent my day cleaning gutters and pressure-washing the moss-covered backyard. Did you know that weeds can grow in your gutters? GROSS!

While I should have been on my bike, on my kayak, in the Miata with the top down, or basking in the sunshine while taking the dogs for a sweet stroll, instead I was covered in gutter-y moss muck. Now that I have all that done you just wait, the next few weekends will be terrible weather. Ha, isn't that the way it works?

At least now I don't have to worry about it, you know, it is a weight that has been lifted from my shoulders. One less responsibility to have hanging over my head. Ahhh, the pleasures of having a home.

Enjoy the week.

Peace-

Your My58 Host,
Kelly

Friday, April 6 - 10:12 a.m.

So I am on a plane yesterday, on my home from a few days on the road for work, and this guy gets up from his seat and starts fiddling with his luggage in the cabin above me. Normally in this day and age, someone fiddling with their luggage while on a plane is not acceptable. The guy then proceeds to spill his beverage on me ... YES! ON ME!!! I yell out, "Dude! You are spilling on me!" To which he shoots me the look of death and he goes back to his seat, but he didn't apologize. Phhffff ... I mean come on ... I realize it was an accident but he could have apologize for getting soda on my white sweater. Argh. What is with people these days? Have we lost all respect for others? Sheesh.

Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

OK, I am officially letting it go and I am going to enjoy my weekend now.

Peace-

Your My58 Host,
Kelly

Friday, March 30 - 12:38 p.m.

So, I am going to a crab feed on Saturday night. I love me some crab. Crab with a "C" though, not the krab with a "K." You know, that phony stuff they try to sneak pass you in a California roll or a "Krab" salad.

The CRAB FEED is a fundraiser for the Sacramento Sirens. They are Sacramento's World Champion Women's Football team (2003, 2004 and 2005). Some of the women are very good friends of mine (Hi Margie! Hi Que!). The women who play for the Sirens are hard-working, devoted and compassionate individuals. I am looking very forward to their season which begins on April 28. The Sirens tend to pound the competition, I can't wait to see what they do to the crab!

Don't forget to check out the band Telfaire on Sunday night's Garage Cinema. The movie will be "Big Girls Don't Cry, They Get Even," 5 p.m. Sunday on My58.

Catch you on the flip side...

Peace-

Your My58 Host,
Kelly

Wednesday, March 28 - 4:15 p.m.

Oh yeah! It's garage band time again. That's right. This Sunday's Garage Cinema will feature the band Telfaire.

Trav and I had an opportunity to talk with the guys about their music, their passion and their recent decision to move to Nashville in pursuit of a record deal. These dudes are SOOOO down to Earth, incredibly cool guys, and amazing musicians.

Be sure to tune in to Garage Cinema at 5 p.m. this Sunday on My58 to see them in action.

They will also be playing at Marilyn's on K on April 12 and a show at Java Cafe in Fair Oaks on April 13. i am looking forward to checking them out in Fair Oaks because it will be an acoustic set.

Hope to see you all there.

Rock and peace --

Your My58 Host, Kelly

Tuesday, March 27 - 9:05 a.m.

Enjoy the week with some fly tunes:

Bonus: City - Telfaire

Until the next time....

Your My58 Host, Kelly

Wednesday, March 21 - 11:21 a.m.

Bahr

Bandit

As far as professions go, I am extremely lucky. I get to work for My58 and with Travis each week, but you know being the Host isn't my only job. I am also a compliance specialist for a large insurance company. I get to travel to some really great places. The coolest thing though, is that when I am not traveling, I get to work from my home.

So right now I am taking a brief break from my compliance job to write my blog and my dogs are hanging out right at my feet. I LOVE THAT! You see, for me, my dogs are my children. I love getting to spend my days with them right by side at all times.

They are extremely spoiled. Bandit, he is my Cocker Spaniel, likes to lay on the bed that is in my office. He is lazy and sleeps all day. Unless I go within four feet of his leash, then he jumps off the bed and shimmies all over the house cause he knows he is in for a treat. My Sheltie, Bahr, is the opposite. When I grab his leash he runs into another room. He isn't big on exercise. Bahr is great with kids, though. If he sees any one under four feet in height, he is immediately filled with joy. He just loves the attention from little kids.

My dogs are so loved and spoiled. I wouldn't trade the world for my two kids. Do any of you have dogs that you just adore? Let me know. Send me stories and pictures, please. I just love talking with other dog owners.

Hmmm. I wonder if one of these days I could get Bandit and Bahr on the Garage Cinema set ... I am gonna work on that one.

Until then!

Peace-

Your My58 Host,
Kelly

P.S. From Bandit and Bahr ... grrrr, WOOF!

Tuesday, March 20 - 10:43 a.m.

Ahhhh ... chooooo! Oh yeah, that's right, allergies have begun. Sniffle sniffle, I'll be OK though. Just need to get into the allergy doctor and I will be good as new. Until then, enjoy my top 5 songs of the moment. I hope they leave you feeling stoked!

Stolen - Dashboard Confessional
A Sorta Fairytale - Tori Amos
Peaches - The Boys Want to Be Her
If You Fall - Azure Ray
In The End - Scott Matthew

Bonus track, in honor of their new ablum dropping today:

Float On - Modest Mouse

Have a SWEET week.

Peace-

Your My58 Host,
Kelly

Friday, March 16 - 10:56 a.m.

Woohoo! It's Friday!

OK, but you see, it isn't just any old Friday ... It is the Friday before St. Patty's Day. Yippee! I am looking so forward to tomorrow. I have a tee time at 12:30 p.m. that I am totally stoked about. It will be a beautiful day to be hitting par under the big blue sky on all that gorgeous green grass. Except I won't be hitting par. I am a terrible golfer. OK, maybe not terrible, but certainly not very good. But that won't stop me. I will be in company of very good friends, on a stunning day, playing 9 holes, celebrating my heritage.

I know that lots of folks look forward to all that Irish fare too. You know that corned beef and cabbage? Um, not me. I am not a meat-eater so instead I look forward to all the green food. It's funny because normally when a food is unnaturally green, most folks wouldn't touch it with a ten-foot pole, yet on St. Patrick's day, we are all over that stuff. Green bagels, green cakes, green chips and salsa, green beer. OK, green beer I can handle for sure.

My song reccomendation for the weekend ... appropriate for Saturday: "She's A Rebel" by Green Day.

I hope you all have a safe and enjoyable weekend. Salud!

Peace-

Your My58 Host, Kelly

P.S. Don't ever let 'em touch your lucky charms!

Wednesday, March 14 - 9:48 a.m.

Under the Milky Way - The Church
Troy - Sinead O'Connor

Suddenly I See - KT Tunstall

All right kids, today is the day!

IFL battleground premiers this evening on My58 at 7 p.m. Are you ready for the action? I must say that beyond all the muscles, throw-downs and jabs, these guys are pretty amazing dudes. Trav and I had such a great time with these gentlemen. Now, maybe the term "gentlemen" doesn't seem suitable for them, but they truly were gentle men.

Vernon White, aka Tiger, is a doll. Very sweet, humble, and smart. Dan Gunderson, aka Guns, is a family man. He loves his wife and kids to no end. Roy Nelson, aka Big Country, is a teddy bear. He really impressed me. Dan, Rocky and Pat ... they were all just incredibly smart, sensible and kind-hearted guys. Take that into consideration when you see them pummelling other guys tonight.

Good luck to the Reno Lions! Knock 'em ... dead ... down?

Friday, March 9 - 5:06 p.m.

So I think I have a problem ... I think I might be addicted to shoes. Not the really expensive ones like Manolo Blahniks or, I dunno, Gucci's ... but you see I have a real taste for tennis shoes, you know, like Chuck Taylors and Asics and Puma and Vans and Saucony's and Diesels.

The thing, too, is that the stranger or weirder they are, the more I like them. I like my kicks BOLD and funky. I just bought a pair of slip-on Vans, they are white with four-leaf clovers all over them, I saw them and I just had to have them.

So the problem isn't that I cannot afford all these shoes, the problem is that I am running out of places to put them. Any suggestions?

P.S. If anyone knows where I can buy a pair of Ice Creams (women's size 5 1/2, boy's size 3) Let me know ... I have been dying to get a pair of those fly guys.

Wednesday, March 7 - 5:10 p.m.

Ahh ... spring is in the air ... sort of. It's that time of year where we get teased with beautiful, 70-degree afternoons that are then followed by cold rainy days just to be followed by more beautiful, 70-degree afternoons. No sooner do I start bringing my spring and summer clothes out, when the skies open up and the temperature drops. All in all, I will take a few cold and soggy days, though, for one brilliantly 70-degree afternoon. Until then ...

So, the great folks at My58 have been working on a new set for the My58 Garage Cinema. Trav and I got to check it out today and let me tell you, it is SWEET. We are looking forward to working in it very soon. One problem though, we need a couch to make it complete. If you have an old couch that isn't too trashed and you would like to donate it to the set, please send us an email at garagecinema@my58.com. We would LOVE To have it :)

I hope you all have a splendid w/e ... be sure to check out the My58 Garage Cinema on Sunday night from 5 to 7 cause we have Dave Kovar, a karate instructor, on the show. I don't want to give too much away, but let's just say Trav and I went all out for this one.

Till the next time...

Monday, February 26 - 1:32 p.m.

Rain, rain, go away. Come again another day ... please. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy the dreariness of rain, I also enjoy the promise of it, too. We need a good rain every now and again but today ... not so much. I want to ride my bike, or take my dogs for a walk, or open the windows of my house and when it is as ugly a day out as it is today, I just can't do any of those things. Not to mention that my backyard is turning into a swamp. I'm about to call up the International Mud Wrestling League and see if they want to use my backyard for their next venue.

Speaking of wrestling, IFL is coming to My58 on March 12th. Now IFL is NOT wrestling, however, it does involve some seriously strong and skilled gentleman battling it out for a title. For more info on the IFL, cruise the My58.com Web site for lots of information. And, look for our interviews and coverage of the events that will be appearing on the Web site in the near future.

Have a great (& dry) week all!

So, I hear Britney Spears has shaved her head? Amazing.

You know, I actually have shaved my head, just like Britney's, three times! It is a nice way to start fresh and new. It's also a lot less hassle and certainly a great way to stay cool in hot climates, but if I could give Britney one piece of advice, it would be to wear sunscreen. Seriously Britney, it can be a VERY BAD THING to get a sunburn on one's head. Trust me!

Wednesday, February 21 - 8:55 a.m.

DUDES ... I almost forgot. You can ride Space Mountain to the music of the Red Hot Chili Peppers!

This was the last ride we went on, and it was without a doubt worth the wait. Rockin' out to "Higher Ground" by RHCP while twisting and turning on this ride was absolutely far out. If you are headed to Disneyland any time until April, you MUST check this out.

Hope to see you all this weekend at the Black Expo.

Tuesday, February 20 - 6:30 p.m.

Wow! So, Disneyland was wonderful. A bit soggy in the evening, but still fantastic. The food was scrumptious, too.

Friday, February 16 - 11:13 a.m.

Woo hoo! Disneyland, here I come!

That's right kids, I am headed to "the happiest place on Earth" for the weekend. On my agenda is to get a pair of personalized Minnie Mouse ears for my niece, find some great souvenirs for my two dogs and to eat loads of Disneyland food. I am serious, it's all about the clam chowder in bread bowl, the Mickey Mouse-shaped pretzel with cheese. You can't skip the apple and cinnamon churro, the GIANT pickle, or the salt water taffy. I am a vegetarian, so someone else will have to eat the turkey leg and Monte Christo from the Blue Bayou. But I will be picking up the slack by consuming a hot fudge Disney sundae, cotton candy and a heavenly slice of pizza. Ooohh ... I can almost taste it.

Alas my friends, I must get to packing for my food frenzy, happiest-place-on-Earth adventure. But hey, you can see Travis and me next weekend (February 23rd, 24th and 25th) at the Sacramento Black Expo which takes place at the Sacramento Convention Center. Stop by and say "hi," we'd love to chat.

Until then ... have a safe and SWEET weekend.

Peace,
Kelly 8:) (that's me with Mickey Mouse ears on!)

Tuesday, February 13 - 6:05 p.m.

Wow ... so I have a blog. Pssht, never thought that would happen ... I am not totally sure how this works. I think i am supposed to "spill the beans" if you will, or type out my innermost secrets, sort of like I would for a journal ... OK, so here it goes. This one time at band camp ... Ahh SUCKERS! You really thought I was going to share that stuff with you :) Ha!

OK, for the sake of my private life and all that remains a hidden within the depths of my soul, I do want to share something with you all. I LOVE music ... I mean it. It is like my be-all, end-all. I am known to break into song at any given moment. I wake up to, get dressed to, drive to, cook to, do laundry to, and eat to music. I have an eclectic taste. I will listen to anything. I mean it ... ANYTHING. Music is more to me than notes and chords and bridges and lyrics. It is soul and heartbeats and breaths and kisses and embraces and it is sunshine washing over me and blanketing me with warmth. I truly live and breathe for music. So in hopes that maybe you all might e-mail me with some great music and recommendations, I am telling you what my current top 10 songs of the moment are. Enjoy!

Hellogoodbye - "Here In Your Arms"
Jeff Buckley - "Everybody Here Wants You"
Mindy Smith - "Edge Of Love"
Rage Against The Machine - "Killing In The Name"
Delirium - "Angelicus"
Bridget Gray - "Letter To Hip Hop"
Robin Thicke - "Lost Without You"
Ani DiFranco - "Little Plastic Castle"
Pharrell - "She's An Angel"
Bob Marley - "Could You Be Loved"

Bonus track: Mika - "Relax, Take it Easy"

I know, I know there are some oldies, but there are new tracks too and they are all GOODIES. I hope you all enjoy and please e-mail me your play lists too. Send me tracks and recommendations. I would LOVE to hear it all!

Peace,

Your My58 host,
Kelly
